Music Review: My Kids Love This CD

I bought this CD for my kids (ages 13, 9,7, and 1) last July. They ALL love it and ask to listen to it all the time. They have memorized the lyrics and the older three know the names of the composers as well as the names of the original songs. My one year old loves "Hyden's Great Surprise" and recognizes it the moment it begins to play. Great music for kids of all ages. The voice quality of Richard Perlmutter is not great...but we love the CD anyway. A very enjoyable way to learn some great classical tunes.Music Review: Even I like it.

This CD was introduced to me by my mother who used to bore me to death with her classical records of all shape and size when I was a child. She loved it. So I tried it. I love it, my kids love it, my husband loves it. I am not a lover of most classical music. I like music that I can sing along to. My kids wouldn't have stood a chance at knowing these classics if not for this CD. Now they recognize the pieces in movie soundtracks, elevators, department stores, WITHOUT the lyrics. I bought this as a birthday gift for a little boy. My kids and I love this CD and like to give it as a gift for other families. It is so fun for the kids, but also it has helped me be able to identify and remember the songs. I tried to think of my favorite song, but I love every one; they are so catchy! "The Kings and Queens of England" is a compact little history lesson. I need to get another copy for myself; one I loaned out never came back. That's okay - this is one CD I want every kid to hear!Music Review: Please buy this for your children, as well as yourself

Think Walt Disney's Silly Symphonies mixed with the Animaniacs Shorts (warner brothers). I'm 19 now, and even I can remember a day when cartoons used classical music for the scores of their show, or better yet, they used their cartoons to introduce kids to classical music. It's fun, it gets the tunes in their head, makes them understand and appreciate why people still like the music today. It is in no way degrading the music, it is only uplifting and good-natured, and makes me want to hear more.Music Review: EXCELLENT CD to introduce kids (& adults) to classical music!

This CD is a must for every child. It is so important for children to appreciate the great composers. This CD is a wonderful introduction and a fun way for children to learn the facts and names to go along with the tunes. The selection of pieces for this disk are also wonderful. It is nice that the songs are also to where you can listen to them without the lyrics. My children love it and my husband loves to hear just the music (& he is more of a oldies rock n roll & country music man).
