Music Review: Guarneri + Beethoven = match made in musical heaven.
Rating: 5 Stars
The players of the Guarneri quartet are certainly some of the most respected chamber musicians in the world, and this CD certainly justifies this reputation.The sometimes esoteric quartets of Beethoven are played here with wonderful emotion and pathos; yet the dramatic elements of performance at no time overshadow the wonderful musical architecture of Beethoven.
Even if you don't always agree with the Guarneri's choices, the unity and forcefulness of the playing is always compelling. Get this one.
