Music Review: Music To Mow By

Disclaimer right up front: I'm a 47 yr old rural IT professional....not a youngster by any means.
With that said, Be Your Own Pet was/is the best thing to happen to modern music in a long long time. Refreshing, energetic, unabashed, deviant, sexy, angry, determined...the list of positive adjectives can go on forever. I started listening to them with Get Awkward and found myself a SuperFan instantly. The lyrics remind me of my youthful years gone by...it's a good thing I didn't have this music when I was 16 or my life might have taken a more drastic turn. I still prefer the Get Awkward release to this one but both are stellar blasts of atomic energy.
Now to the title of this review....I've found that BYOP somehow seems to work very well in my head when I'm mowing the grass...pop in the earpieces, turn up the sound to mindbending (11 to the average listener) and walk straight lines. I don't know how many times I've come to the lyrics for Bicycle, Bicycle (We're on two wheels baby!) and find myself titling the mower over while I walk....miss entire swathes of grass while I veer thru the yard.
Even though the band has recently broken up, one of my few wishes before I pass on to the next great adventure would be to see these nuts live from the front row in my favorite pub!

Four friends (3 dudes, 1 femme) get together in nashville basement and compare notes. Likes: caffeine, spicy food, t rex, television, bicycles, iggy & the stooges, skateboarding, afri rampo, sea horses, velvet underground, asthma inhalers, animal collective. Dislikes: boredom, posers, boredom, flat tyres, runny eggs, lameness, boredom. It all started sort of in 2003 the band played local freak scenes and small house parties.General CDs
