Music Review: this band has created a really unique sound

The reviewer who called this music "unique and wonderfully piratey" had it right!

I bought this to use as background music when the college where I work sponsored a speaker about women pirates. The Toucan Pirates music is beautiful-- classic Celtic sound-- with a silly, fun twist. Fans of Celtic music will enjoy it, but little kids who are pirate fans will also find something to love.

However, if you are looking for sea shanties ("Blow the Man Down" etc.) this isn't the right CD for you.

Description of Battle Songs of the Toucan Pirates

This album of traditional Irish instrumental music with authentic pirate sound effects will take you along on a wild Toucan Pirate adventure! Jigs, hornpipes, slip jigs and reels played on accordion, concertina, pennywhistle, guitar, mandolin, bozouki, bass guitar and bodhran, with a steel drum added in for texture and flair, all embedded in a soundscape of pirate adventure on the high seas. This 15-song, 40-minute album comes highly recommended by step-dancers, sailors and scallywags; it's a treat for Irish music lovers and pirate fans alike!
