Music Review: Black as Black can be perhaps

The beginning of the first two Bathory albums are to me a dark world in it's blackest forms, the howling winds....whatever is going on sounds like some dungeon below a castle or cave deep out in the country where evil dwells to me. The sound that comes forth is not all that uncommon, yet perhaps faster, darker than anything at least I had heard.
Comparable to Venom, and to me even Motorhead in speed...even at time eclipsing the speed barrier set by such bands....plus the raspy growl of demons on the hunt. It has that black metal label I guess, but I can listen to this along with early Slayer, the first Megadeth Cd, and Celtic Frost of course along with Venom and Motorhead and it all blends nicely into an extreme metal pit.
Whatever you call it "Black Metal" seems most often used, this one can be really raw and repetitive at times of course, young band and times limit their output in the first CD, even the second one, but it is pure evil at times they seem to have created. I find it hard to believe this stuff was even allowed to be created by such a young group of men. Not for sales that's for sure, but for someting influential and entertaining (and frightful), you aren't gonna find much around this time that equaled this release.
