Music Review: The Book Of Eli

Not all the tracks are great. But, the ones that are good are definetly worth the price. I'd say I enjoy listening to 70% of the tracks. Listening to the tracks really brings you back to the drama of the film all over again.
It's not your average movie score either . Atticus Ross brings a more modern type of score with alot of different sounds and ambient noises along with your everyday strings and horns of a movie score. The combination brings a very good pace for the tracks. There are some more basic piano tracks like "human" as well. Each song brings a little something different . My personal favorite would have to be "The Journey" which is a great combination of all the tracks rolled into one great track. Even though the track that made me want to buy the CD was the very first track "Panoramic". And the tracks "Outland", "Den Of Vice", and "Movement" gives me great hope that I can look forward to listening to the next score Atticus Ross comes up with knowing there are some greats tunes in store for me.
If you like movie scores I highly suggest this CD.
Description of The Book of Eli
The Book of Eli Original Motion Picture Soundtrack features an original score by composer/musician/producer Atticus Ross, marking his third collaboration with the Hughes Brothers and his first feature film score. Ross' music is a unique hybrid score of electronic and organic elements; writing with his wife (Claudia Sarne) and brother (Leopold Ross), the basic tracks were recorded at his studio in Los Angeles before departing to London where it was finished in Abbey Road Studios with a full 80 piece orchestra.Ross' other film credits include co-writing and producing Go All the Way (Into the Twilight), the Perry Ferrell single for the hit film, Twilight, the score for the Allen Hughes vignette for the film New York, I Love You, as well as the music to the Hughes Brothers TV show 'Touching Evil'. Ross has also incorporated his musical style into collaborations and productions of such major artists as NIN (the albums With Teeth, Year Zero, The Slip, and the Grammy-nominated Ghosts), Jane's Addiction, and Korn.
