Music Review: Not A Good AS I LAY DYING Purchase

This CD was a disappointment for me, as I have liked the group since about a year before Shadows are Security. This CD is essentially the As I Lay Dying and American Tragedy Split CD with the tracks from As I Lay Dying of course, Beneath the Encasing of Ashes, As I Lay Dying's first full length CD, then the 5 tracks from the Split CD they did rerecorded. The 5 Songs from the split CD are good and not bad at all really. The problem for me, which is essentially the reason why I bought this CD is the Beneath the Encasing of Ashes tracks. They were done 2 months after the band started and are not that good, Tim, the vocalist has a very boring low scream throughout and the guitar parts are pretty boring over all. Plus the rerecorded stuff isnt that "new"? They rerecorded 3 of the 5 tracks from the split on Frail Words Collapse. So overall dont buy this CD unless ur a die-hard fan. Bands really should not put out a full length 2 months after bein a band. If u want a good AS I LAY DYING CD get Frail Words Collapse, hands down a great record. Shadows Are Security isnt bad either.
