i originally was turned on to ART OF FIGHTING with the NO MORE EMPTY NIGHTS cd which i love. i was upset to learn that the local (and well known) record store BENT CRAYON had no way of getting this in. john said he was upset that it had no U.S. distrobution yet. so amazon to the rescue...this is a great progression for this band, which i've always had a soft spot in my heart for. if you are a fan of theirs, you will love this album. if you haven't heard them yet, you are missing something special. give them some of your hard earned dollars and pick this up, and while you're at it, pick up their entire catalog, wherever you can find it.

In the near decade since three Melbourne high school friends formed a band inspired by such teenage heroes as the Smashing Pumpkins and Sonic Youth, ART OF FIGHTING have become one of the most respected and admired independent bands in Australia, with a growing international following, a rich and complex back catalogue and an irresistible air of dignity and grace. Moving on from their delicately controlled sophomore album 'Second Storey', Melbourne quartet Art of Fighting return with their beautifully intuitive third, 'Runaways'.
