Music Review: Annie is truly a diva

I just bought this cd today and already have listened to it three times. I've been a huge fan of Annie Lennox since her days in the Eurythmics. Her voice is rather unique I think. I absolutely adore the first song off this cd "Why". The melancholy of the song literally moves me almost to tears. "The Gift" and "Stay by Me" are other favorite tracks of mine on the cd. As a solo artist, I prefer Annie singing ballads but when she was with the Eurythmics I loved it when she rocked out. Either way I love this woman's voice and her music.Music Review: THE BEST CD WITH HER VOICE ON IT!

She was good when she was with Eurithmics, but she's just as good now. Medusa is fine, but Diva really blows me away. I'm younger (young teen), so no one my age knows who she is (I was raised on it). My friends who I have showed it to, though, immediately fall in love with it. If anybody knew who she was, she would be one of the most popular Divas out there today. I wish she would be on TV music interviews, like on VH1, more. ANNIE LENNOX ROX, BABY! THIS IS MY BAG! Please, please email me if you really like her alot. I saw the movie "striptease" with Demi Moore, and I liked the music, but could never find a soundtrack album. This is it. The music is beautiful and smoky. The perfect line of all is in the song "Cold". It says "dying is easy, it's living that scares me to death". That is so perfect, because it's so true. She has a sultry, ensnaring voice. Also, whoever wrote the words is a wonder. This album is a must for lenox fans. If you don't understand what I mean by a smoky voice, rent "Striptease" withDemi Moore.Music Review: Awesome Album by the Europop/rock/soul Diva!

Ignore the critics who say she has not earned her title to be a diva. I have to disagree she has been around for over a decade and has put out an amazing string of pop hits. She has more than earned her title. This album is heavy on ballad songs that fit her voice. My favorite is the midtempo "Walkin on broken glass" Which is an infectious melody noone can resist. In this current age of fake divas who havent even been around for that long its time that Annie Lennox gets the spotlight. She should be on the next Vh1 Divas Live show.Music Review: tenderly powerful

While this CD is not the typical eurythmics fare, it is a showcase for a person, male or female, with a powerful instrument that is Annie's voice. While in some selections there is the richness of multiple layers, comparing it to fine cuisine depth of tasting would not be amiss, in other selections there is basically just her rich voice showing a depth of soul. A complete rounded presentation that is lacking in most of the current music offerings, this should be essential listening to one who is looking for a more complex experience.
