Music Reviews of Annie Get Your Gun (1999 Broadway Revival Cast)Music Review: Too Bad. Rating: 4 Stars
Berlin is Berlin:loaded with beautiful melodies. Bernadette Peters and Cast stand on their own merit. Any comparisons with Merman or Martin are foolish. Purchase all three versions and enjoy the specialties of each. Too bad the current revival sacrifices three beautiful and entertaining melodies on the altar of political correctnes. How Gross!! They should have taken the word 'gun' out of the title, thus covering all bases.
Music Review: It's a shotgun CD Rating: 5 Stars
This is such a blast to listen to. I am nine years old, and my mom and I saw the play. We have enjoyed the CD over and over again. Tom Wopat should have won best actor. His opening lines are without the orchestra, and it's so awesome as the orchestra joins in and the number builds up. By the end of the song, everyone is singing--except Annie. Bernadette Peters is fabulous, too. I think she must really be Annie Oakley.
Music Review: My favorite CD Rating: 5 Stars
I bought this CD knowing that I would be seeing Annie Get Your Gun on Broadway. I loved the CD before I saw the show, and love it even more now. All the songs are familiar (even if you haven't seen the show). This version of "Old Fashioned Wedding" is the best I've heard - Bernadette Peters is fantastic, and who knew that Dukes of Hazard guy (Tom Wopat) could sing! My 5 year old daughter loves it, too!

Music Review: Excellent Rating: 5 Stars
After seeing the Broadway show, I knew I had to own the CD. I was not too surprised how wonderful Bernadette Peters was--she always is; but the real surprise was Tom Wopat. He has a beautiful voice. My favorite song on the CD is "My Defenses are Down". I find myself playing the CD every couple of days (it's on now). If you've seen the show, the CD's a must--it brings it all back to life.
