Music Review: One of the greatest Aussie rock bands

This is a great album; most Australians will identify with these rockers, they were on our airwaves for much of the 1980s until the mid 1990s.
A bloody great rock band, quite eccentric at times; this is what happens when Post-Punk blends with Pure Rock ( aka AC/DC style),and I'm proud to say this band is 100% homegrown Australian. The Angels could of easily made it as big as AC/DC, but for some reason didn't gain an international presence.
Many aussie bands have followed in the footsteps of The Angels, including some great current aussie rock outfits such as Powderfinger, You Am I , and Jet.
These tracks sound as fresh as when they were first recorded, and this collection is not dated one bit. The tracks are chronological, but don't include anything from their final studio album, although many fans indicate that this was the weakest output from the band, and is no loss to a 'Greatest Hits' collection.
My only criticism is that the album would have been better with the inclusion of the track "Wasted Sleepless Nights" from where the collection gets its namesake, and perhaps the live version of "Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again?" from 'Liveline' would have done the song more justice as many of us identify with that version, including the larrikan crowd chants which have now become an integral part of that song.
Other than those minor quirks, Doc and the lads should be proud of this compilation as it showcases The Angels as what they are - one of the greatest rock bands in Australian music history!
