Music Review: Excellent, but
Rating: 4 Stars
I will not repeat all the excellent remarks about Holdsworth's playing, except to state the obvious: He is flawless, cerebral, and yet musical. I have only one small criticism which is solely subjective: I am not fond of some of his choices for synth settings, and the intensity of the setting. It often sounds like he is no longer playing a guitar. The synth creates distance, and muddies his subtle playing.

This is the first new studio release from guitar legend Allan Holdsworth in four years. It features virtuosos Dave Carpenter, Gary Novak and former Zappa drummer Chad Wackerman. This album was released in Europe and Japan two years earlier but was not released in the U.S. Now Globe Music Media Arts has created a 'Special Edition' release for the album's U.S. debut, featuring more than nine minutes of additional music, 24-bit remastering, and 'Special Edition' repackaging.General CDs
