In this surprising year where bands of the past like Whitesnake, Dokken, Def Leppard and more came up with pretty strong material, I was excited when I heard of a new AC album. And a concept at that. I'm sorry to say that the album did not live up to my expectations. AC remains one of the longer lasting rockers spanning 4 decades of solid hard rock. But this album is in my opinion his worst to date. There are no hooks or memorable tracks to be found and the musicianship is average at best.

If you want fresh metal, may I recommend the latest Judas Priest or the latest testament CDs ?

Music Review: alice rocks out
Rating: 4 Stars

This is a great cd. Alice Cooper is still giving us great music, something Kiss needs to learn from. Because if they try they can come up with new stuff too. And if you Make music that rocks and you like, the fans will still buy it. Personally my favorite cooper stuff was "brutal planet". I wish he'd return to that great sound too. but this one satisfies my hard rocking horror movie loving soul; just like his many great songs from the past do for me as well. And the songs are really cool with even Ozzy Osbourne helping out. So if you like great hard rock you will enjoy this great cd.

Music Review: Alice Rocks with chills
Rating: 5 Stars

Just got the new CD. Wow, great. "Along came a spider" rocks, Excellent lyrics, riffs, and a solid, heavy sound that is very consistent, like a knife cutting but in a good way. Just a note, the CD shows Alice Cooper's sense of humor and showmanship so the album has a creepy touch to give the listener the touch of the "chill" but in the good way, like Michael Myers or Jason jamming to the beat with their knives and axes, instead of jamming them into you. However, who would dare say anything bad about this CD when one of the songs says "vengeance is mine??????"

I'm listening to "Along Came a Spider" for the fourth consecutive time as I'm writing this and with each play I slip further and further into my youth. Suddenly it's 1977 again. Fan-freakin'-tastic!

I have a friend who is an Alice Cooper impersonator who has met Alice several times and he gave me the heads up on this album, nearly begging me to listen to it. Daaaaang! There isn't a weak sister in this group! I am absolutely in love with "Vengence Is Mine"!

Guitar Rock lives!

Music Review: Pretty Good and Very Welcome
Rating: 3 Stars

While it's always nice to hear a new one from Alice, this record is inferior in every way to his last one, which was a kickin' great fun rock and roll record with a great band, great songs and a cool nod to Detroit. It's a drag that fans always seem to await a return to the "Welcome To My Nightmare" period. That album had a (lousy) hit, but was nowhere near as good as "Killer", "Love It To Death" or "Billion Dollar Babies". Still, Alice rocks, and I'm enjoying this new one - just not as much as the last one.
