Music Review: A wonderful gem of one of the greatest Helden tenors of the mid-late twentieth century

This is without a doubt a wonderful collection of Jon Vickers in recital. I will say that, in my taste, it is not all stylistically correct. His diction is not on in Italian, as far as emphasis is concerned, he's too big on everything stylistically, especially the Purcell, Scarlatti, English art songs. The Handel is magnificent as well as the Beethoven. If you just listen to it purely for his singing and not style and diction the recording truly is a remarkable gem worth owning.
