Music Review: MORE PEOPLE SHOULD HEAR AL BOWLLY

Al Bowlly was a fantastic, popular singer in the 30s and into 1941. He went home to England from the US in 1941 because of the war with Germany. Shortly after he returned a bomb was dropped over the building he lived in and he died.
BUT his wonderful songs live on.

Description of This Is Romance
(2-CD set) Had Al Bowlly survived World War II he would probably gone on to be one of the most noted singers of the twentieth century. It is believed that he influenced many other singers including Bing Crosby and Al Jolson. On this CD he can be heard performing some of his best songs, performing with the Ray Noble and Lew Stone bands in the 1930's. Although Al's life was short he left behind a considerable catalogue of music and some of the best is featured on this double CD.
