Music Reviews of Highway to HellMusic Review: AC/DC En el Mejor Momento de su Carrera. Rating: 5 Stars
Music Review: Get your kicks on Rt 666 Rating: 5 Stars
This album was the atomic bomb that moved AC/DC to the top of the mushroom cloud of Heavy Metal music. Producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange absolutely understood AC/DC. Prior to this, the band was guitar heavy and concert honed, but hadn't quite found the proper sound in the studio to match their antics onstage. Lange fattened up the sound, made them concentrate on songwriting, and the band delivered the goods. The first four songs on "Highway To Hell" were classic rock with the boxing gloves loaded with horseshoe sized hooks. As soon as the public heard it, there was chaos. Parents covered their ears, church groups had seizures and the little boys really understood. The twin guitars of Angus and Malcom Young were a declaration of war on everyone that dared stand in the band's way, and Bon Scott sang like a demon unleashed. There were no fancy concepts or mythic storylines to be found on "Highway To Hell," just the testosterone blues of frustrated males around the world captured perfectly. Along with Aerosmith's "Rocks" and "Toys In The Attic," this is seventies rock at its pinnacle.
Music Review: A Classic AC/DC Album Is Even Better Than Ever! Rating: 5 Stars
"Highway To Hell", released in 1979 was lead singer Bonn Scott's last album with AC/DC due to his untimely death. The album was a landmark for AC/DC and included their first ever radio hit (in the U.S.) in "Highway To Hell". The album is a hard rock lover's dream, with big power chords, lead breaks and powerful vocals. The songs that standout on this release (which make up for more than half the album) are the title track "Highway To Hell", "Girls Got Rhythm", "Shot Down In Flames", "Get It Hot", "If You Want Blood (You've Got It)", "Walk All Over You", and "Touch Too Much". This newly remastered cd which is now under the Epic label sounds much better than the older 1994 remastered version. The bottom end, mid-range and output level have all been increased dramatically. I've actually compared them and found this new release to be the superior of the two. The digipak that holds the cd is very attractive and includes a booklet with colorful photos, etc. If you enjoy groups such as Judas Priest, UFO, Def Leppard, Krokus, Scorpions, etc. than you'll won't be disappointed with "Highway To Hell".
Music Review: good not as great as stated by reviewers on amazon Rating: 3 Stars
i hear reviewers SCREAM THE BEST ALBUM THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN"
the only thing i have too say to these statements that have been forced down our throats in over-dramatic fashion is..this is not the greatest album ever...it's not in my top ten..the ac/dc iwould put in my top ten is "let there be rock" much better than "highway to hell" a more alert ac/dc with angus throwing the riffs like bullets and bon scott setting the stage with catchy lyrics and great vocal performance....
highway to hell suffers from ac/dc trying to be dramatic
but really they just come off as pretentious..i love ac/dc a great rock and roll band that has taken the three chords too distant heights..in the same way status quo have...
there's some real corkers on this album I.E highway.walk all over you..if you want blood[you got it] love hungry man and night prowler...great band when bon scott was the lead singer
just an average album from the hell's angel's
sorry it's my opipion and my opipion won't fit in with everyone
but just accept it and move on...
Music Review: Best AC/DC Album Rating: 5 Stars
While Back in Black probably is top to bottom a great album. This has to be the best AC/DC album of all time. There are at least 2 if not 3 songs on this album better than any on Back in Black. This is one of my favorite albums ever and I would recommend it to anybody.
If you like this album, The Razor's Edge, High Voltage, and Back in Black are AC/DC's other great albums and you will enjoy them too. I'd also recommend '74 Jailbreak because Jailbreak is a great song.
