I bought this without listening to it (unfortunately) and could not believe my ears. The quality of the recording is weak--since it sounds like a poorly sequenced computer/karaoke track with singing to it. Then to boot, the lyrics are simplistic and cheesy. Maybe for some people this will work if the bride's father or mother isn't going to touch on these things during the toast, and are unable to find a special REAL song that may have some meaning for the event. But when I got this, there was NO WAY I was going to have something like this played at my wedding. And after I explained to my wife that I was trying to find a special song for her to dance with her father at the reception, she appreciated the gesture. When she heard this song, she was relieved that I consulted her. If you're going to spend a lot of time and care preparing for this very special day, you'll want to avoid having this cheesy song played at all. Instead, you'll be a lot better off saying these and other more personal things directly to your daughter at the reception during the toast. And PLEASE don't spring this one on your daughter without asking. It's her special day. And if she hates this song, she won't be enjoying this special dance with her father the way she should.

A Song For My Daughter is the second CD single release from New Traditions following the very successful A Song For My Son - the first song in history ever written for the mother and groom dance at a wedding reception. The CD single of A Song For My Daughter contains both a male vocal version and a female vocal version, so the song can be either from the father to the bride or from the mother to the bride. The male vocal version is sung by Ray Allaire who also sings the very popular New Traditions song A Fathers Song.
