These songs were not the #1 of the year in 1964 but were simple very popular and well done. I don't think a single song here made the billboard's number one for the year in fact. The fact is in 1963 "My Boyfriend's Back" by The Angels hit number one in September but didn't linger into '64. "I'm Leaving It Up to You" was a number one in '63 for Dale & Grace but not included here, their follow-up that hit #8 in '64, "Stop & Think It Over" is. In any case 20 tracks are included and its great fun.

Greatest Hits 1964 collects the year's most memorable pop and rock hits, including the Kingsmen's "Louie, Louie," the Shirelles' "Foolish Little Girl," the Angels' "My Boyfriend's Back," Major Lance's "Um, Um, Um, Um, Um, Um," and the Drifters' "On Broadway."
